b. Searching for articles in a library

University libraries usually provide researchers free access to their periodicals.

A researcher can thus directly consult the periodicals on site and draw up lists of references relevant to the study at hand, and can quickly pass over unrelated articles. This also allows for note taking and photocopying of articles needed for further study.
