2.2 Biological diagnostics of Ebola virus disease

2.2.1 VHF diagnostic

VHF diagnostics such as Ebola can be done only in special laboratories. Find out the contact information for the laboratory able to conduct such diagnostics in charge of your health care district.

Type of samples:

  • Blood (whole, plasma or serum)

  • Urine

  • Saliva (E-Swab)

  • Skin, kidney, liver, lung biopsy (in 10% paraformaldehyde)

  • Transport at +4°C or room temperature (do no freeze!) in UN 3373 or UN 2814 transport containers
