3.8.5.3 What to do in case of accidental exposure to blood or body fluids ?

Delayed steps:

  • Administrative step: Notify as an accident at work (<24h)

  • Clinical step:

  • Doctor’s visit to the doctor in charge of the workplace

  • Testing (Ebola, HIV, HBV, HCV etc.)

  • Risk assessment/isolation

  • Care, monitoring and follow up (in case of Ebola suspicion, >21 days)

  • Prophylactic antiretroviral treatment (ART) if necessary for 4 weeks: AZT-3TC-LPV/r
