3.3 Chemistry of DNA replication

At each fork of the replication bubble, the enzyme, DNA polymerase, adds a deoxyribonucleotide.

DNA polymerase always adds a nucleotide at the 3’ end of the newly synthesized DNA strand.

The newly synthesized strand is elongated from « 5' to 3' ».
