3.3 Reducing the risk of transmission

It is possible to reduce the risk of transmission with the following measures:

  • Wear protective clothing in the isolation zones, laboratories, places where laundry is done and during the handling of corpses from patients suspected to have died of EVD.

  • Clean and disinfect splashes, any product or liquid spill, waste and the reusable equipment.

  • Clean and disinfect soiled linen.

  • Apply good procedures to dispose of single use equipment and to treat infectious waste.
