3.7.3 Basic triple packaging system

3.7.3.2 Preparing sample and triple packaging

  • Protect yourself by wearing the PPE when handling the sample

  • Wrap sample in an absorbent material

  • Slide the sample inside a leak-proof waterproof tube without contaminating the tube (an assistant – protected as well– can, for example hold the tube while you slide the sample vial inside the tube)

  • Check that the non-contaminated assistant closes and disinfects the tube thoroughly

  • Remove the PPE. Perform the safety procedures (waste treatment, hand washing etc. according to the safety procedures)
